International Women's Day Luncheon 2023

In support of International Women's Day 2023, the team at the WiNE Network are proudly hosting a Luncheon event at the Ranges Restaurant, Mansfield Golf Club. This year's theme is 'Embrace Equity' and we are thrilled to have Activist and Author Judy Ryan (OAM) leading a panel of inspirational women.

ABOUT JUDY

A city girl with a country heart! Judy Ryan spent her childhood in Wangaratta, moving to Wodonga to raise a family. When she hit the big smoke in Abbotsford Melbourne, she was confronted with the heroin epidemic. In 2016, with a young man slumped at her doorstep, 'something broke'. Judy was compelled by her time spent in the country, “Imagine what they’d do in Wang [Wangaratta] if someone’s child collapsed in the street.”

After decades of inaction, this led Judy to mobilise the community, positioning the heroin dilemma as a public health crisis, with an ambitious campaign that has supported the establishment of the Medically Supervised Injecting Centre in Richmond. Judy has since stood as a candidate in the three levels of government in Australia. 

Judy was awarded on Order of Australia Medal for her role as secretary for the Residents for Victoria St Drug Solutions group and in leading the campaign. In addition to her contribution to community initiatives, including her role as co-founder of Our Community Leadership Group, which organises activities for kids living in housing estates, and Victoria Street Alive!, which aims to improve safety, community and economic activity in the area.

Most recently, Judy has published her book, 'You Talk, We Die' - a personalised account of her grassroots campaign to effect change.. We are so appreciative to have Judy join us on this iconic day.

We are also thrilled to welcome three inspirational women to this year's panel including:

+ Annette Rose - Founder of 'The Women's Money Coach' and startup 'Kids Get Money', championing financial literacy for women and children.

+ Fiona Greenway - President of the Country Women's Association Mansfield, providing essential support for women, children and families in need.

+ Ruby Dobson - Under 19 National Champion Cross Country Mountain Bike Rider, ranked 14th in the world. Living and completing her VCE in Mansfield.

We have some fantastic door prizes on offer PLUS we will launch our latest online Charity Art Auction revealing an original work by renowned local artist Wendy Jagger - all guests have the first chance to bid!

HOW TO REGISTER

Spaces are limited so it is essential that you register online for this event. The cost is $39.50 including an arrival drink and luncheon provided by Ranges Restaurant, Mansfield Golf Club, 24 Kidston Parade Mansfield VIC 3722. Arrivals from 11.45am for a 12pm start - Approx. 2.00pm.

Tables of 10 are available - groups of 10 are most welcome but you can still purchase individual tickets. Please note that the event will be run within any current COVID-19 guidelines.
