"It was an absolute privilege to hear about the RESN: Regional Education Support Network at Parliament today.
RESN is an amazing team of young people providing free tutoring to students in regional NSW and Victoria. Many of these students live in Indi, including Amelie Walker from Mansfield Secondary College.
If you have some young people in your life who would benefit from RESN, I really recommend signing up - both to give and receive tutoring. Encourage your school to get involved as well.
Amelie spoke passionately about how RESN’s online group tutoring and rapid Q&A services gave her a helping handing when she was completing Year 12 last year.
She also spoke about how regional students often face disproportionate disadvantage when it comes to study, compared to their inner-city peers, and that we need to do better to give regional students the same quality education as the rest of Australia.
I couldn’t agree more. Thank you Amelie for sharing your experiences and advocating for regional education. Good luck with your university studies next year!"
Thank you Amelie for being a voice in this space and to Helen for sharing. We are very proud to have Amelie as a general board member of our network
